The D.W. Higgins Institute is a not-for-profit charter school that was founded in 1998. Student enrollment has grown from 32 students during our first year to over 200 students as we enter our eighth year. Since our inception, the focus of our school has been the individualization of curriculum to meet each student’s needs. We have accomplished this through small class sizes, integration of technology and using lessons and activities based on the latest educational research and the Arizona State Standards. The results of these endeavors have been the creation of a positive learning environment as well as overwhelming success on achievement and performance-based assessments. D.W. Higgins was recently rated as an "Excelling School" by the Arizona Department of Education.
